EV Charger Grant Rises to £500 per Chargepoint
The UK Government has confirmed a significant increase to electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint funding, with grants rising to £500 per socket from 1 April 2026 until the end of March 2027.
Under the updated scheme, the maximum grant, previously £350, will increase by more than 40%, helping to reduce the upfront cost of installing EV chargers at homes and workplaces.
The grant uplift covers multiple schemes including:
- Workplace charging scheme. Open to businesses, charities and public sector organisations, you can apply for up to 40 sockets across your sites, each one receiving an installation grant of £500.
- Landlords for residential properties.
- Home charge points for renters and flat owners with private off street parking.
- Households with on street parking when also installing a cross-pavement solution, such as a charging gully.
