Electrical Installation Condition Reports

An important part of maintaining your electrical system is periodic testing in the form of an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Diamond Services, part of the Diamond Controls Group, is an accredited member of the NICEIC and our qualified electricians are on hand to provide an Electrical Safety Certificate.

With prices as little as £140+VAT, we carry out an in-depth inspection and testing in properties across Norfolk.

It is now a legal requirement for privately rented properties to have a valid EICR report at least every five years. Make sure you remain compliant by booking your EICR today.

Our reports are sent to you digitally and usually in less than 24 hours after our visit so you can be assured of a quick turnaround from our electricians.

This testing and the subsequent report are used to identify any damage, defects, or deterioration which may cause danger and shows any areas for improvement for safe and effective energy supply to your home or workplace. It is an early warning sign for potentially costly and harmful flaws and enables rectification work from qualified electricians.

What is involved?

We will test the circuitry of your system, safely turning off electrics at the main supply. The testing will help us to determine if the system is satisfactory for continued service. Our report will provide the full summary of the condition of electrics and whether it complies to current British Standards (BS 7671). We will also make recommendations on necessary or beneficial improvements for safety and efficiency.

The certificate will contain classification codes which will determine the priority and degree of severity in any defects found.

When do you need an EICR?

It is good practice to commission an EICR whenever you suspect there is a problem with your electrical system and at a change in tenancy, whether you are in commercial or domestic premises. In addition, it is strongly recommended you commission an EICR in the following circumstances:

>Homeowners – An EICR is recommended every 10 years or when moving into a new property

> Rental properties – An EICR is mandatory and required every 5 years

> Holiday Lets – An EICR is mandatory and required every 5 years

>Commercial/industrial properties – If a problem is suspected and on recommendation from an electrician depending on the type of property and use
